Founded in 2013 by Artistic Directors Jennah Delp-Somers and Shane Troll, iSing Silicon Valley brings together more than 300 of the best young female singers in the Silicon Valley, offering them rigorous musical and vocal training while fostering artistry, engagement, and leadership.
iSing has now begun to transform listeners and achieve recognition in the world beyond. Recent awards include the Grand Prize in the 8th International Robert Schumann Choral Competition and the 2018 winner of Chorus America’s Dale Warland Singers Commission Award.
iSing has collaborated with Meredith Monk and Vocal Ensemble, Cappella SF, and various guest artists, including soprano Barbara Bonney, folk singer/songwriter Moira Smiley, and the Amaranth String Quartet. Recently iSing was presented by Stanford Live and Festival Napa Valley.
iSing will release their debut album, Here I Stand, in Fall 2019. Works on this album are commissions by leading American composers, including Adam Schoenberg and Daniel Elder.
iSing singers become friends for life, bonded by artistic experiences that challenge and shape their view of the world. They grow together, engaged “whole self in,” as we say at iSing. Their shared vision for a bright future in which they, as young women, will be heard and valued, manifests itself in every rehearsal and every performance, as iSing singers realize the power and potential of their voices.
