iSing, with love

iSing, with love

From our hearts, to yours. A program featuring a virtual performance of “Vier Lieder aus dem Jungbrunnen” (Four songs from “The Fountain of Youth” by Johannes Brahms with poetry by Paul Heyse, written when he was only nineteen years old. The text chronicles a relationship, from it’s early stages of fear and excitement, to challenges, to strength, and to the ultimate death of one companion. The four movements of the work offer a unique opportunity to highlight vocal quartets from within the choir.

Also on the program, solos from our HD singers, teaching team, and alumni. It’s Valentine’s Day after all, so you can plan on love songs spanning all genres, showcasing the vocal artistry of our singers as well as the incredible artistic talents of iSing’s collaborative pianist, Anny Cheng.

Online premier on Sunday, February 14, 4:30PM PST, Register below to receive the viewing link on the date of the concert.

Get ready to fall even more in love with iSing. See you there!

iSing’s Eighth Annual Holiday Concert: Holidays@Home

Jennah Delp Somers and Shane Troll, Artistic Directors

Featuring the 215 girls of iSing with guest artists Angel Blue, the Amaranth Quartet, members of One Found Sound and the San Francisco Symphony, and collaborative pianist Jungmee Kim.

Holidays@Home is a varied program of challenging contemporary works—among them Kim Andre Arnesen’s Et Misericordia and O Salutaris by Eriks Esenvalds—arrangements of traditional carols like O Come All Ye Faithful, and popular holiday songs, including The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).

iSing’s holiday concerts are among the most beloved of iSing’s annual traditions. iSing’s eighth annual holiday concert is different, as Holidays@Home must be offered in a virtual format this year. Although iSing’s musical community will miss celebrating the holidays together in person, there is a silver lining: While iSing’s holiday concerts at the Mission are always sold out, this year iSing is able to welcome new listeners from near and far to view this virtual performance of challenging classical works, traditional carols and arrangements of popular holiday songs, and hear the musical mastery and joyous sound of iSing’s choirs.

Give the gift of music.
