Meet Bogum
Dr. Bogum Park is a distinguished collaborative pianist, educator, and dedicated music professional. Her journey through the world of music began at Sunhwa Arts School and Sunhwa Arts High School in Korea, paving the way for her academic pursuits at Yonsei University. Seeking excellence and diverse experiences, Dr. Park pursued her studies in the United States, where her passion for the piano flourished.
She earned her first Master of Music in Piano Performance at The University of Texas at Austin from 2014 to 2016. Building upon her talent, she achieved another Master's degree in Collaborative Piano as a teaching assistant from 2016 to 2018, followed by her Doctoral of Musical Arts (TA) in Collaborative Piano from 2018 to 2020. In 2022, she added to her impressive credentials by graduating with a Professional Studies Certificate in Collaborative Piano from Manhattan School of Music.
Throughout her journey, Dr. Park's commitment to excellence and artistry has led her to numerous victories in international competitions. Notably, she emerged triumphant in the Sid Wright Competition at UT Austin, Osaka International Competition, Stefan Muller Competition, and more. Her musical prowess extends beyond competitions; she has graced stages as a solo pianist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician across the United States, South Korea, France, and Italy.
With over 15 years of private teaching experience, Dr. Park is not only a performer but also a dedicated educator. Her multifaceted engagement with music includes over two decades of roles in various capacities within the Church, including pianist, keyboardist, organist, and choir conductor.
Dr. Park's journey also encompasses enriching academic experiences. She served as a Collaborative Pianist at prestigious institutions such as Manhattan School of Music, Precollege at MSM, and Precollege at The Juilliard School. Her impactful contributions extended to The University of Texas at Austin, where she worked as a Collaborative Pianist from 2014 to 2020. Recently, she has shared her expertise as an Adjunct Faculty at Winston-Salem State University, an Accompanist at Wake Forest University, and as a freelance collaborative pianist at University of North Carolina at Greensboro and UNC-Chapel Hill in 2022-2023.
Relocating to San Jose, CA with her husband, Dr. Park continues to thrive as a Collaborative Pianist, Piano Instructor, and Adjudicator. Her unwavering commitment to music education and her artistry is evident in her current roles as a Music Associate and Collaborative Pianist at San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College and iSing Silicon Valley Girl Choir. Dr. Park's influence extends to collaborations with Jinny’s Violin Studio and Shao Violin Studio, highlighting her passion for nurturing emerging talent.
