Dr. Erin McOmber, Group Voice Instructor

Meet Erin

Erin grew up in Palo Alto and loves working in her hometown. She earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in voice performance from the University of Utah, a Master's in voice performance and pedagogy from Brigham Young University, and a Bachelor's in voice performance from UC San Diego, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. She has taught private voice for thirty years and is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. As a singer, Erin has performed numerous operatic roles, including Mimì, Fiordiligi, Susannah, and Blanche de la Force, and has been soprano soloist for Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mozart's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Mahler's Symphony No. 4, and more. She spent time in the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square (formerly the Mormon Tabernacle Choir) and is a founding member and co-conductor of Mayfield Singers, a mixed-voice chamber choir based in Palo Alto.

Erin began working at iSing in 2015 and is now present for all Polyphonics and HD activities, leading warmups, sectionals, and rehearsals; coaching soloists and small groups; preparing high school seniors for college auditions and applications; and teaching lyric diction. Additionally, she instructs Group Solo Voice and Choral Voice Intensive classes for select Level 2 Harmonics Singers, facilitating a smooth transition into iSing’s upper choirs.
