Hanna Shin
South Korea-born pianist Hanna Shin has been actively performing as a soloist, an orchestral soloist, and a collaborative artist throughout the United States and South Korea. As a soloist, Shin has won in numerous competitions including the Seoul National Symphony Orchestra Competition, Paderewski International Competition, and International Clara Schumann Competition. In addition, she has performed in various prestigious concert halls such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in NYC, Miriam A. Friedberg Concert Hall in Baltimore, and Seoul Arts Center, Sejong Arts Center in Seoul. Appearances as a soloist with orchestra include Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Paris Chamber Orchestra, Jeonju Philharmonic Orchestra, and Seoul Chamber Ensemble Orchestra. As a collaborative artist, Shin's excellence was highlighted by the fine arts critic Tim Smith of the Baltimore Sun when she played for the U.S. premiere of Jonathan Dove's Mansfield Park. He reported "Shin makes the most of the assignment, becoming a major star of the production." Shin Completed her BM degree in Piano Performance at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. She has received her MM degree as well as a Graduate Performance Diploma in Piano Performance, along with a MM degree in Vocal Accompanying, at Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, where she was awarded full scholarships over the course of her study. She completed her DMA degree at Catholic University of America, Washington D.C., with full scholarship. Since 2010, she has been devotedly maintaining a private piano studio, where she has had the privilege of teaching and mentoring young pianists. She currently holds a position on the vocal coach and collaborative pianist at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and collaborative pianist at iSing Silicon Valley.
